NHV Hat Day, Hat  Show en Exhibition 2023

On Saturday, October 21, the annual Hat Day of the NHV took place in De Til in Giessenburg. It was a pleasant and very successful day with wonderful workshops, a varied Materials Market and many articles on sale in the member’s Marketplace. At the end of the afternoon it was time for the Opening Show of the Hat Competition. In addition to the 41 hats that participated in the competition, two other hats were shown: one hat as a tribute to the guest of honour of the day, Mrs. Rinie Bal, who made a generous donation to the NHV of her hats and materials. And a hat from Galina Lapteva from England, which came in late for the judging due to a mistake at customs and therefore could not participate in the competition.

After the show, the exciting moment of the award ceremony took place. The chairman of the jury Mrs. Truus Stuiver explained the choices of the jury and announced the winners:

1. First place went to the hat "Open Wings" by Cristina de Prada Samper

2. Second prize went to Lauren Ritchie's "Power of the Bow" hat

3. The third prize went to the hat "Turn it" by Suzanne Jonker.

The hats will be on show in Museum De Kantfabriek, Americaanseweg 8 in Horst (Limburg) from Tuesday, October 24 to Sunday, November 12, 2023. There the public can vote for the People’s Choice. You can also cast your vote via the NHV Facebook account. Voting is open until November 12. (Physical votes count double compared to votes on Facebook).
